Since I saw quite a few harsh comments on articles that I was reading online the other day,
this saying / proverb, just came across my mind and stuck in my head for a while.
The harsh comments made me think of how our words impact others, and I became curious about its meaning deeply.
It was not about me directly or anything related to my personal life, but still, it made me feel so uncomfortable.
By the way, I am not saying it is not appropriate to make a comment or say something aloud.
I believe it may be unnecessary to always give people cruel words unless it would be uplifting ones to others.
Instead, I would like to see and hear more words of kindness out there.

ある日、ネット上で私が読んでいた記事に、心無いコメントを沢山見かけたので、
ふと、このことわざ/格言が
頭に浮かんできて
それからしばらくの間、
それが頭から離れませんでした。
私は、
その酷いコメントの数々に
私たちの言葉が他の人に与える影響、
そして
その言葉の意味について
さらに深く考えるようになりました。
そのコメントは
直接、私について言っていた訳でも、
私個人の人生に関係のある内容でもありませんでしたが、
とても不快な気持ちにさせられるものでした。
ところで
私は
コメントを残すことや
声に出して意見を言うこと自体が
常に不適切なこと
だと言っている訳ではありません。
ただし、人を高めるものでない限り
不必要に酷い誹謗中傷をするべきではないのではと思うのです。
代わりに、
もっと優しい言葉を聞きたいと思う今日この頃です。
